Once again I have to apologize for not posting the update yet, the workload has been indeed very high the past few days and unfortunately, this is something that has to be done by myself.

Just a brief description what the update will be about:

* higher bandwidth transfer limits
* new servers
* description of new development version
* a webdesign contest for the main website

… and other important issues regarding future developments.

If you experienced the “virus problem” mentioned above, please contact me at admin@identitycloaker.com and tell me the antivirus version and virus database date if possible. Norton support responded that they cannot find a virus in the file.

We have been informed by some customers using Norton Antivirus that a virus (Suspicious.Cloud.5D) was found in the installer. This is an obvious false alarm, no other antivirus application has detected anything.

I will now personally contact Symantec/Norton and will ask them to resolve the issue. Also, please make sure you are using the latest available antivirus definitions.

Also, for those upgrading from Identity Cloaker version 1.1.9 and older, it will be probably necessary to uninstall the older Firefox Extension first.

These instructions are important only if you are using Firefox:

1) Run the current/old version of Identity Cloaker

2) Click “Firefox Extension Uninstallation”

3) Restart Firefox

4) Install the new version of Identity Cloaker (you do not have to uninstall the previous one first)

5) Click “Firefox Extension Installation”

6) Restart Firefox

OK, a new version is now available in the member area for downloading. It’s also available at:

http://www.identitycloaker.com/download/IDC_Setup.exe

This version is compatible with Firefox 4 and also the OpenVPN Portable can now install the OpenVPN driver on 64-bit versions of Windows properly.

This version will not be available via the standard update as it caused some complications in the past and it does not add any new features so it’s not necessary to upgrade for those using Firefox 3.x still or other web browsers only.

If you find a bug in this version, you can post it in here.
